Open Call for Art Submissions: Un-special Events Themed Print Show

A Place to Print is hosting a group print exhibition with the theme un-special events! This is an open call for artists in the Midwest to submit an original print fitting the theme. Sign up for submissions will be online, the deadline for online submission is November 18th. Image(s) of the artwork is required for approval with online submission. You will receive an email notification of approved artwork, venues, and show dates post approval and deliveries of artwork will need to be made by 1/6/2024.

Artwork must be done with printmaking as the primary medium. All prints must fit the theme, un-special events and can be full bleed, vertical, or horizontal.

All participants must pre-register to participate in this show. The online form must be filled out and a hard copy turned in with the artwork at the drop off. This form must be typed; handwritten forms will not be accepted. Please print out one form to deliver with artwork before you arrive to avoid any issues. The information you provide will help us to identify and document your work.

DROP OFF:

Deadline to drop off artwork is January 6th by 9:30PM. Artwork can be delivered to 530 West Oak Street, Louisville, KY 40203. All prints will be checked for compliance with the guidelines on media and for dryness. The organizers reserve the right to refuse entry of any submission that fails to conform to the guidelines.

Join us for a free printmaking demonstration! Lithography is a traditional printmaking technique using limestone as the drawing surface and the resistance of water and grease to make the print. Chemistry is involved for all our sciencey friends and I mean, who doesn’t love to see a chemical reaction?! Come out, join us in learning about the materials and process and see it firsthand!
