“I Can be an Artist” series is a series of workshops hosted by The Thomas Gales Foundation, to encourage youth that they can be artists. Participants have the opportunity to experiment and learn techniques with various art materials and instructors.
This linocut workshop is intended for ages 15-19 years old. Linocut is a traditional printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut, in which a sheet of linoleum is used to create an image on the surface. The negative of the image is carved out of the block, the surface is rolled up with ink, then transferred to paper using a printing press to make the impression.
